Helen Beck

Helen Beck manages research for UKDPC into the impact of increasing austerity, alongside greater decentralisation and localism, on action around drugs. In particular the research focuses on change to drug-related policing activity and the provision of drug treatment and support services.

Prior to UKDPC, Helen worked for five years as an academic researcher for the Centre for Analysis for Social Exclusion at the London School of Economics and for five years commissioning and managing research around the value of public space for health and wellbeing for the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment.

She has a first class B.Soc.Sc (Hons) Politics degree, University of Manchester, a MA (merit) in Development, University of Manchester and a MSc (distinction) in Housing and Regeneration, London School of Economics.
